Yamdrok-Tso Lake
Yamdrok-Tso Lake is located about 70 kilometers southwest of Lhasa, with an elevation of 4441 m above sea level, and is one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet. Under the sunlight, the water of the lake will show different levels of blue; looking from the surrounding mountains, it is like a sapphire inlaid in the mountains. Tibetan Buddhism believes that YamdrokTso Lake is the incarnation of the dragon girl and is also the residence of the female guardian god, so it is the holy lake.
