Napa Lake
Napa Lake Natural Reserve is a beautiful wetland area and scenic spot situated 7 km northwest of Shangri-La Old Town and 3,270 m above sea level.
Covering a whole area of 660 square kilometers, Napa Lake is a typical seasonal plateau lake. When it is the rainy season, the lake expands, and the water will rush into the Jinsha River. During the dry season when the water recedes and grassland appear, you will find the flocks of yaks, horses, and sheep grazing on the prairie.
From September to March, Napa Lake is the most ideal place for viewing the black-necked cranes because it is a wintering habitat for migratory birds. Horse riding or walking on the trails would make you more integrated into the Napa Lake Natural Reserve.
