- Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to wander through Weishan Old Town, explore the wooden houses, small stalls, and the museum with unique artifacts.
- Explore Weibaoshan Mountain, which is one of the most sacred Taoist mountains in China.
- Go down partly on foot for the magnificent view of the Weishan.
- Drive to Yunlong Valley(4hrs).
- A leisure stroll at Nuodeng Village, a well-preserved site of China where one can still observe the intact way of life of the Yunnan people and enjoy the quiet and peaceful scenery.
- Eat dinner and stay overnight at a Bai family inn.
- Drive to Shaxi (5hrs).
- Stroll in the Shaxi Village at leisure, admiring its 14th-century Ming Dynasty buildings. You’ll see vignettes of daily life.
- Stroll in the Shaxi morning market at leisure. (Only on Friday)
- Explore the Shibaoshan Grottoes on foot.
- Departure by road to Dali or Lijiang (1h30/2hrs).

- Wumu and Baoshan (+2~3 days): Built at the beginning of the Mongolian dynasty, Baoshan and Wumu are the two most beautiful villages in Yunnan. Perched on a natural promontory, these fortified Naxi villages overlook the Yangtze. The scenery on the river and the terraced fields are breathtakingly beautiful.
- Lugu Lake (+ 1~2 days): Located north of Lijiang on the border with Sichuan, Lugu Lake, with an average depth of 40 m, is the second deepest lake in Yunnan. It stretches over an area of 48 km², and its crystal-clear deep blue waters combined with coniferous forests offer a sumptuous landscape. Travelers can ride a horse around Lugu Lake or drive the canoes to the three islands inside it.
When to go?
You can do this tour throughout the year. But the best seasons are in the spring and autumn when the temperatures are mild. The summers are pleasant, and the temperatures remain moderate. Although the monsoon sometimes brings abundant rains in July and early September, it doesn’t pose a problem for this cultural circuit.
