Luoping
Luoping, on the border of Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi three provinces, is 228 kilometers east of Kunming. The enormous scale of Canola fields in Luoping county is undoubtedly the most uniquely artificial “ocean” in the world. During the blooming season, usually in February and March, the sea of canola flowers of Luoping would provide visitors with a strong visual impaction.
As a pleasantly inhabited region, for travelers, visiting the villages, Jiulong waterfall, Duoyi River, and Lubuge Valley is the best way to get to know the Buyi group, who created the majestic natural painting.
Canola blooming period: Mid-February
Canola harvesting period: Mid-March
The Jiulong Waterfalls
The waterfall consists of 9 rows of water (Jiulong means 9 loongs in Chinese). The flows converge on a valley and form the magnificent scenery. The largest waterfall is 110 m wide and 56 m high.
The Duoyi River
The Duoyi River consists of 5 underground rivers that cross the gorge of Lubuge. The beautiful scenery is reminiscent of Guilin.
The Lubuge Gorge
Lubuge in Buyi language means “beautiful village”. The dam of the power station and the artificial lake are the most attractive in the Lubuge gorge. You can let your imagination run wild with the cliffs in different shapes.
