Tuanshan Village and Zhang’s Garden

Tuanshan Village,13 kilometers west of Jianshui Old Town, is a typical Han immigrant village in southern Yunnan. The ancestor Zhang Fu entered Yunnan from Jiangxi Province for trading during the Ming Dynasty and settled in Tuanshan.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the Zhang clan members who had obtained a huge amount of wealth returned to Tuanshan and invested heavily in civil engineering to build a large number of exquisite and luxurious traditional houses, and Zhang’s Garden is one typical representative.

Now, Tuanshan Village has 21 well-preserved traditional houses and ancient buildings and was listed as a World Monumental Building Heritage by WMF (World Monuments Fund).
