Weishan
Weishan, the birthplace of Nanzhao, is a well-preserved town of the Ming Dynasty and 78 kilometers from Dali City. Strolling the old town, The Gongchen Pavilion, the landmark of the town, the Xinggong Pavilion, and many Buddhist and Taoist ancient buildings will give travelers a surprise. Here, 6 ethnic groups have lived for generations including Han, Yi, Hui, Bai, Miao, and Lisu with strong ethnic customs, especially the song and dancing of the Yi people and Islamic culture are distinctive.
• Donglianhua Muslim Village
Donglianhua Village is a typical Muslim village that was built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 600 years. Mosque and the ancient residential buildings of the Ma family are must-visit attractions.
• Weibaoshan Mountain
Weibaoshan is located 13 kilometers northeast of Weishan County, and its highest peak is 2509 m. As one of the 13 famous Taoist mountains in China, 22 Taoist temples built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties were all over and they have unique architectural art. Every year on the 15th day of February 1st of the lunar calendar is the traditional Temple Fair in Weibaoshan Mountain so people gathered to celebrate it.
