Obtaining the Tourist Visa in China
A visa is required for all travel to China and applications for Chinese visas cannot be requested more than three months before the date of travel. The travel visa for China is generally valid for one month.
A tour certificate is necessary for the visa application. One of our advisers will send it to you by email.
Travelers under the age of 14; having reached the age of 71 and applicants who have already deposited their fingerprints at the Chinese consulate less than 5 years ago (same consulate, same passport), escape this rule.

If you decide to travel alone, you must complete this formality to obtain your visa.
If your stay includes the destination of Tibet, you must also complete this formality and we advise you to submit your complete file 2 months before the date planned for your departure. For your information, Tibet is closed to foreigners during the month of March.
If you do not want to go to the visa office, there are two alternative solutions:
1. China Visa E-VISA without fingerprint collection (Group Visa, From 2 or more people)
The visa is issued to the whole group. Travelers must therefore enter, leave and travel together during the stay.
Parts to provide:
– Copy of the first page of your passport
– Copy of your plane ticket reservation
– The pre-filled request form
– The program of your trip (provided by the travel agency)
– Proof of hotel reservations
– For minors, a copy of your birth certificate translated into Chinese
It is advisable to send your visa application between 30 and 18 days before entering the country.
If your stay includes the destination of Tibet, you cannot apply for an E-visa. You must apply for a classic visa with the collection of fingerprints at the Chinese embassies.
To simplify your procedures, do not hesitate to contact us or call on our partner Action Visa.
2. Visa on site: (reserved for groups of 2 people or more and only possible for groups of 5 people landing in Beijing or Shanghai)
Visa for European Union, Swiss, Canada, and USA nationals for stays of less than 20 days.
2 weeks before your arrival it is imperative to prepare the following documents and send them to our agency:
– Copy of the first page of your passport
– Copy of your plane ticket reservation
– The pre-filled application form
– The program of your trip (provided by the travel agency)
– Proof of hotel reservations
– For minors, a copy of your birth certificate translated into Chinese
6 days maximum before your departure, the pre-validation of your visa will be returned to our services. The file number and the necessary documents will be returned to you by email.
You will be responsible for making a color copy of the documents and remembering to bring them with you.
You will need to inform the airline of your wish to apply for a visa upon arrival in China.
At the departure airport, present the documents that were given to you when checking in your baggage.
When you arrive at the airport, when exiting the plane, someone will be waiting for you to complete the formalities necessary for issuing your visa with you.
With your original passport, confirmation number, and documents provided by your travel agency, your visa will be issued to you within one hour at most.
If the visa is not issued, if all the necessary formalities have been completed, the Ciel Yunnan agency undertakes to reimburse your entire stay (apart from the costs relating to your plane ticket).
